At one time, Rhodes Furniture was one of the most recognized names in the furniture business. They had locations all across the US and were considered one of the go-to stores for mid priced, quality furniture. Rhodes Furniture leather sofas can be found in thousands of homes across the country, and Rhodes Furniture stores were also known for their recliners. Rhodes Furniture, however, eventually became outdated and fell victim to the intense competition in the furniture market from stores that were able to sell pieces for less. Rhodes Furniture went out of business, and one of their competitors, Rooms to Go, has now purchased Rhodes Furniture locations and turned them into Room to Go stores.
The Rhode To Rooms To Go Rooms to Go is stiff competition for any furniture business, and Rhodes is not the only company that has suffered the same fate. Rooms to Go is an industry leader when it comes to low priced furniture. At Rooms to Go, customers cannot buy furniture by the piece. They have to buy an entire room set instead. In other words, you don’t simply go in and buy a couch, you go in and get the couch, love seat, chair, end tables and coffee table, all for on set price. This business model allows them to buy in bulk and sell cheap, undercutting the competition. |

Rhodes Furniture adhered to a more traditional business plan, allowing customers to purchase whatever pieces they wanted. Their furniture was generally better quality than Rooms to Go, but customers followed the low prices.
What Does This Mean For Rhodes Furniture Customers? Furniture is not the kind of thing you replace very often, and it is often something you buy on credit. There are customers who purchases Rhodes Furniture in the past and still have Rhodes Furniture credit card accounts on which they are paying and furniture that is covered by Rhodes Furniture warranties. So what happens to you if you are in one of these situations? If you have a Rhodes Furniture credit card account, you can contact HSBC to find the HSBC retail services for Rhodes Furniture to continue paying on your account. If you have a Rhodes Furniture warranty, the bad news is that you are out of luck. Rooms to Go refuses to honor your warranty or handle any Rhodes Furniture customer issues. Unfortunately, you do not have any recourse if something happens to your furniture from Rhodes Furniture, despite any retail warranty you may have purchased for the furniture. |
